Real-time GPS tracking is built into every wuffle booking — it's not a premium feature, not an add-on, and not something that depends on your Pet Concierge remembering to share their location. Here's exactly how the system works from pickup to delivery.
Before your Pet Concierge ever starts the engine, they submit a Pet Travel Plan through the wuffle platform. This document outlines the planned route, scheduled rest stops with approximate timing and locations, feeding schedule, and estimated arrival time.
You receive this before pickup. Review it. If the rest stop timing doesn't account for your pet's specific needs — a senior dog who needs more frequent breaks, a cat who requires litter access on longer trips — raise it before the trip begins. The Pet Travel Plan is a commitment, not a suggestion, and it's the baseline against which you can evaluate how the trip is going.
GPS tracking activates when the Pet Concierge marks the booking as picked up in the wuffle platform. From that moment, the vehicle location pings every five minutes and populates a live map accessible through your booking. The map shows:
Current location. Updated on the five-minute cycle — not a cached or approximated position, but the actual most recent location data.
Live ETA. Calculated dynamically based on current location, remaining distance, and typical route conditions. Not the ETA from the Pet Travel Plan, which was estimated before the trip — the real-time ETA based on where they actually are.
Route visualization. The map shows the planned route and the actual path traveled, so you can see if anything significant has changed.
Alongside GPS tracking, Pet Concierges submit photo updates with categorized labels throughout the trip. The categories are typed, not freeform:
Bathroom break — the pet has had an outdoor stop.
Feeding — the pet has been fed on schedule.
Rest stop — a longer break from the road.
All good — a welfare check confirming the pet is comfortable and settled.
Arrived — the pet has reached the destination.
These build as a timestamped timeline in your booking view. At any point during the trip, you can see the last update, when it was submitted, and what category it carried. This is the human layer on top of the GPS data — location tells you where the vehicle is; the photo timeline tells you how your pet is doing.
When the Pet Concierge marks the trip complete with a delivery photo, a two-hour dispute window opens before the payment is released. If anything about the delivery is not as expected, this is the window to flag it through the wuffle platform.
24 hours after delivery, wuffle sends a wellness check-in — a prompt to confirm how your pet is settling in at the destination. It's a touchpoint that most transport platforms skip entirely, and it's there because the 24 hours after a long trip is when adjustments and concerns most often surface.
Visibility throughout the trip isn't a luxury — it's what it looks like when a platform takes the trust element of pet transport seriously. safe travels. happy tails.
